About Bimat 0.03% wv

It works well for treating open-angle glaucoma and promoting eyelash growth.
BIMAT 0.03% w/v contains bimatoprost as its active ingredient.
These well-known eye drops are made by Ajanta Pharmaceuticals.

Uses of Bimat 0.03% wv

When these things happen, a 0.03% wv solution of Bimat is used:

Open-Angle Glaucoma

Several eye diseases are grouped together under the term glaucoma.
Open-Angle Glaucoma is the most common, painless disease that makes people lose their sight permanently.
In Open-Angle Glaucoma, the pressure inside the eye rises rapidly, leading to vision loss.
Bimat 0.03% w/v lowers intraocular pressure, which helps treat open-angle glaucoma.

Hypotrichosis

Hypotrichosis is a condition in which hair loss or slow hair growth occurs in a certain area of the body.
Bimat eye drops have been shown to help grow hair around the eyes, mostly eyelashes, when used by patients.

How does the medicine work?

Bimat 0.03% wv is mostly made up of bimatoprost.
The main job of these eye drops is to help clear out clogged drainage pathways around the eyes.
When the eye’s drainage channels open, intraocular pressure decreases.
This is because the extra fluid inside the eye is being flushed out.
The main ingredient, bimatoprost, is an FDA-approved salt. It can also be purchased under different brand names, such as Careprost 3 ml (0.03%) and Lumigan 3 ml (0.03%).

How to take the drug?

  • Care should be taken when putting the drops in one eye at a time.
  • Take your index finger and pull the lower eyelid down. This will make a pocket in your eye. To spread the medicine around the eye area, close and open the eyelid.
  • Only use one drop a day, and do what your doctor tells you.
  • To treat hypotrichosis, use an applicator to gently apply the drop at the base of the upper eyelashes.
  • Usually, you should only take one dose per day.
  • But you should always take the medicine exactly as your doctor tells you to.
  • If you forget to take a dose, don’t worry; just take your next dose as planned.
  • Do not take twice as much or too much. Taking your medicine at the same time every day will help it work better.
